Matt Coggins ) is a New York-based designer, writer, musician, and UM-Flint alum. Theatre: The Acting Company, Columbia University, Target Margin Theatre, Corkscrew Theatre Festival, Flint Repertory Theatre, Music Theatre Heritage (Kansas City), and more. Music: Space Macs, Earl Grey. Podcasts: Faux News, Let Me Be Clear, Arctic Sounds. He is the Audio/Visual Supervisor for Columbia University Theatre.

Janet Haley (Director, Actor) is Associate Professor of Theatre at UM-Flint, who specializes in physical approaches to actor training and theatre-making. She has performed across the country, is a member of Actors Equity Association, and trains with SITI Company of NYC annually. She holds an MFA in Acting from The University of Texas at Austin, and is Associate Artist with Michigan Shakespeare Festival and The Flint Rep. She is a proud native of Flint, MI.

KENN HOPKINS JR (Director, Actor) he/him (Artist, Activist, Educator) is a proud native and creation of Flint, Michigan. He is a former educator and current practitioner of creative writing and theatre in performance. After completing his degrees and a variety of productions at University of Michigan (Flint, Michigan; Bachelor of Fine Arts) and University of Houston (Houston, Texas; Master of Fine Arts) along with various tours and films across the country, he has become an evolved believer that "Learning is a skill to learn and exercise for a lifetime. Individually we all are lessons to be learned in a book we write as we live word by word... I tend to collaborate first within the status of a student and from there reproduce lessons learned through story as a griot."

MICHAEL LLUBERES (Director, Producing Artistic Director) is an award-winning director, playwright and actor. Plays include: The Boy in the Bathroom, Peter Pan: The Boy Who Hated Mothers, The Geranium on the Windowsill Just Died... His work has been seen at Ensemble Studio Theatre, The Acting Company, The Old Globe, The Blank Theatre, Chance Theater, Adirondack Theatre Festival, BPP, Kennedy Center, Cincinnati Playhouse, St. Louis Rep, Casa MaƱana, Capital Rep, Maltz Jupiter, Pioneer Theatre Company, Lincoln Center Theater Directors Lab, NYMF. Recipient of the ASCAP Foundation Harold Adamson Award, The American Harmony Prize, Wilde Award, Tyrone Guthrie Centre Fellowship. Graduate of The University of North Carolina School of the Arts.


BRET BEAUDRY is an Artistic Associate and Teaching Artist at The Rep. Most recently, he was a featured vocalist in the Rooftop Concert. Prior, he was in Flint Rep's 2020 production of One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest and the 2018 World Premiere of The Boatman. Some of his Flint Youth Theatre credits include: The Adventures of Robin Hood , A Wrinkle in Time , It's A Wonderful Life and Dr. Seuss' The Cat in the Hat . Bret has also been active in the Chicago and Seattle theatre scene. He is grateful to his wife, Melissa, and his twins, Grayson & Pressley, for supporting his passion for theatre.

JASON BRIGGS, a graduate from The University of Michigan-Flint, where he earned his BA in Theatre Performance, has performed in several productions throughout his career. Recently, Jason was featured as Richard in A New Brain at Theatre Nova, The Baker in Into the Woods at Flint Repertory Theatre, Andre in Ain't Misbehavin' at the Jewish Ensemble Theatre, Charles Guiteau in Assassins at Flint Repertory Theatre and in the 2018 Michigan Shakespeare Festival as King Alonso in The Tempest , Froth/Barnadine in Measure for Measure , and Stephano in Aphra Behn's The Rover . Jason, a native of Flint, now resides in Grand Blanc with his beautiful wife Noreen.

JAZMINE KUYAYKI BROE is happy to be part of The Flint Mural Plays 2021. She is currently working with The Black & Brown Theatre in Silent Cinderella. Jazmine studied Communications in Peru, where she's from; and is studying Latino Dance with a Peruvian company (Ladies Studio).

BRIAN BUCHNER is an award-winning pianist, music director, composer, and arranger based in the Detroit metropolitan area. Favorite recent direction credits include The Devil's Music (Theatre Nova, Ann Arbor), Songs About Stuff (The Flint Rep, Flint), and Rosie the Riveter (Wild Swan Theatre, Ann Arbor). Mr. Buckner is thrilled to be back at The Rep for this artistic collaboration!

ARIS CAMPBELL is an alumna of University of Michigan-Flint with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and minors in Theatre and Dance. She is currently a 5th grade teacher in Saginaw Township Community Schools and is working toward her Master's in Education Policy and Leadership at American University in Washington D.C.. Since 2017, Aris has been working with justice involved youth through the YouthArts: Unlocked dance program. She is also a dance instructor for Creative Expressions Dance Studio in Flint. At this studio, she teaches small tots tap, jazz, and musical theater. Outside of these two organizations, Aris has choreographed musicals for many theatres in the Greater-Flint community.

Aris has worked with Janet Haley as assistant director on a multitude of projects in the Flint community as well. She is a Flint native and has loved seeing the vibrant murals popping up. Aris has enjoyed being a part of this project and is excited to help bring theatre to the community in this way!

KYLE CLARK, a Flint native, holds an MFA from the University of Houston and a BA from the University of Michigan-Flint. As a professional Actor, Instructor, Fight and Intimacy Choreographer and Movement Coach he has performed across the country with several theatres and festivals. As a playwright his work has been read, produced and staged several times throughout the Midwest. He's grateful to, once again, show some love to his hometown.

CONNIE COWPER is delighted to return to Flint Rep, where she was last seen in The Boatman. She has worked with many of our local theatre companies, most recently in a pre-pandemic production at the Detroit Repertory Theatre. Connie works in film, commercials and voiceovers, as well as in medical education, using acting skills to teach physicians how to communicate with patients.

RACHAEL CUPPLES is thrilled to be a part of Flint Rep's Mural Plays. She studied Musical Theater at AMDA New York and is currently studying Vocal Music Education at EMU. Thanks to Michael, Flint Rep, and all the artists involved for creating such incredible art in a time of such uncertainty.

CAROLYN GILLESPIE retired from the University of Michigan-Flint as Emerita Professor of Theatre 2011, having taught there for 24 years. She received a degree in Speech Education from Marquette University in Milwaukee, and received an MFA in acting from Stanford. Actor/Director. Member of Actors' Equity since 1986.

DAVID GUSTER is excited to be working with Flint Rep again for the Flint Mural Plays. He made his debut last season in One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest as Aide Williams. He is currently a Junior at The University of Michigan-Flint, pursuing a BFA in Theatre Performance. He's happy to represent his hometown in the most positive ways. When he isn't focused on theatre, he is educating himself to be a better activist/advocate, raising his puppy (Blaze), and spending time with friends and family. He is thankful for his supportive parents, siblings, faculty, and Blaze!

HARVEY is a performing artist and creative from Flint, MI. They grew up on the north side and attended UofM Flint where Harvey earned their BA in Theatre and French. Harvey loves to bring theatre to those who normally wouldn't see a show. In 2019 they directed an immersive production of Passing Strange at Flint Local432 which sold out every night. Harvey hopes to continue to bring theatre to new audiences past the COVID-19 pandemic.

CHARIS JONES is a dancer/actress and graduating senior (2021). She has done several dance projects; competitive and performance. Her most recent acting projects have been Antigone as Pyrrha and 21 Chump Street. Her extra-curriculars include golf, learning and speaking foreign languages (Spanish/Japanese), and traveling.

MELANIE JONES is a gifted singer and actress. Her love for the arts started at a young age. She presently leads the praise team, choir, and dance ministry for a non-profit organization. She is a UM Flint theatre major and the Owner of Artist-Extraordinaires Beauty Studio.

KAY KELLY earned her BA in Theatre from the University of Michigan-Flint and her MFA in Acting from Wayne State University. After graduation, Kay moved to NYC, where she had a recurring role on "The Guiding Light" and performed stand-up comedy in NY and NJ. Kay was founder and director of the Kearsley Park Players, producing Flint's Shakespeare in the Park, fairy tales and musicals for over a decade. Last year Kay and her husband, Michael Kelly, performed "The Chairs" with Flint Rep. As she always says, "Say good things about Flint."

MICHAEL EVANS KELLY has played Oberon, Falstaff and Prospero in Shakespeare, General Stanley and the Mikado in Gilbert & Sullivan, Tevye in "Fiddler on the Roof", Big Daddy in "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" and more. He performed as Narrator with the Flint Symphony on several occasions. Kelly earned his BA from the University of Notre Dame and his MA from Wayne State University. Last year he and his wife, Kay Kelly, did "The Chairs" at Flint Rep.

ERIK MCINTYRE is a Flint-based guitarist. He specializes in improvisation inspired by early jazz, blues, western swing, and more. He studied at Mott and Oakland University, but attributes his learn to a combination of jam sessions, playing gigs, attending music camps, and learning from other professional musicians.

ANDREA ORPINEL graduated from the University of Michigan Flint with a BA in Theatre Performances and a minor in communications. Andrea started her theatre journey as an actress staring in the role of Phoebe in "As you Like It" directed by Janet Haley at the University of Michigan-Flint. As her career progressed she found true passion in Directing plays, working on projects that include directing the musical "21Chump street" written by Lin Manuel Miranda, at the UM-Flint short play fest 2019;Assistant Director for "Antigone" directed by Janet Haley at the University of Michigan Flint, and Assistant Director for " Songs About Stuff" directed by Michael Lluberes at The Rep, as well as many other projects.

DREW PARKER is a Michigan born creative artist who has performed regionally around the country as well as overseas. He sincerely wishes to thank you for remaining curious, open, and kind.

MADDIE RINGVELSKI (she/her/hers) is thrilled to work with Flint Rep again! A graduate of Rochester University, she has loved all opportunities to work with various theatres in Metro-Detroit and the Blue Water area. She sends all love and thanks to family and friends and supporters of the arts.

MOHAN RITSEMA is a young, rising star in the Metro Detroit music scene. He started on guitar at age 8, and discovered his passion for bass at the Downbeat Award winning Community High School in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He went on to study at the University of Michigan, and graduated in 2020 with a BFA in Jazz Studies.

LINDA SAMARAH, community storyteller, uses her role as an artist, activist, and communicator to connect the global to local and public to personal. She is the communications manager of ACCESS, CAAP, NNAAC and AANM-A Smithsonian affiliate. Linda is a W.K. Kellogg Foundation Class Two Fellow and member of the Flint Community Advisory Taskforce on Public Safety.

RUSS SAUTER is a percussionist and Flint native. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Music Performance from the University of Michigan-Flint in April 2020. Russ has performed with the Flint Repertory Theatre in several other productions, including Riddle of the Trilobites and Songs about Stuff: The Music of Wally Pleasant.

MEAGAN KIMBERLY SMITH is an actress, singer and entrepreneur. She is the Co-founder of Mixed in America. Meagan received her BFA in drama at UNCSA. She plays Molly in Banana Split on Netflix, Niki in Blindspot on NBC and will be making her Comedy Central debut in Other Two.

ENRIQUE VARGAS is a proud native of Flint Michigan, and is pursuing a BA in Theatre Performance, at The University of Michigan- Flint. He will appear in UM-Flint's upcoming virtual production of Shakespeare's Twelfth Night. Enrique is currently a teaching artist for Flint Rep's Drama School program. Say nice things about Flint!

RICO BRUCE WADE has been on stage in Flint Repertory Theatre's productions of Boatman, Into The Woods and One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest. He has created content for a variety of media. He is a teaching artist with the Detroit Creativity Project, Planet Ant and the Michigan Actors Studio.

BRIANA WILSON is a recent graduate of Columbia College Chicago. She majored in Acting with a concentration in theatre performance and minored in creative advertising. Favorite roles include: Molly Aster from Peter and the Starcatcher, and Spirit from Paint it Black. She is very grateful for the opportunity to be a part of this project!
